Track Name: Offer
I left my mouth
wide open
for action
A fermented rest;
A vacant view
laid out
in eulogy
A fermented rest;
mad heights
- a. roman
Track Name: No Thing Tended
Something that was mine was never granted to me.
- a. roman
Track Name: Arabesque
Montgomery.
Track Name: Novel
Her brothers fought in the wars;
one had money and lost it all.
Her father prayed to the lord.
Her sister painted it all.
No one ever asked her to tell
the story of how her mother felt.
Her novels laugh ironically of a fiery hell
of women tied to men as they melt.
Jane. Pain. Jane. Pain. Jane.
Austen.
Track Name: Again, St. Death
He bears his bones so close to mine
when I kiss skeletons.
I feel so alive in our death
when I kiss skeletons.
- a. roman
Track Name: Light I See
She sounds like the look of sunlight through curtains;
the only time it ever seems gold.
When it rattles heavy with sound-light, sounds light,
and whispers of smoke dragged through fan choppers
and cut into the light of the sun.
Stirring lava, four billion years molten now,
seeps through the windows of New (apartment in)
York City a billion years ago.
We cross borders and feel the same power.
This hour, “I wait all night in California.”
- a. roman
Track Name: Horror Table
Katy sat in a deck chair.
Katy looked at the sun.
Katy ate an ice cream.
Katy looked like fun.
Katy.
- drawn from a line in a novel by j. winterson
Track Name: Stones, Flesh, Stars
When you stopped feeling holidays and seasons
and when your blood was less ice but more sludge and melted snow
You grew into something new
and saw the world in a new light you hadn’t seen before.
Your skin felt dull and no amount of blood
could make you feel anything.
But your world was white and bright
and full of stars and it was beautiful.
- g. montgomery
Track Name: Be Aches
I watched as she spread the sheet across the bed,
catching corners and coming undone. I said,
“You've undone all that you've done!”
In faint, she repeated, “Of course, of course, of course.”
- a. roman
